Welcome to Gentle Rolfing, LLC!

Vera Povolna is a Rolfing practitioner with offices in Albuquerque, Los Alamos and Santa Fe, NM. Rolfing, which is also known as Structural Integration, is a hands-on manipulation of connective tissue. Connective tissue includes ligaments, tendons and fascia. These structures give shape to the body and run continuously through it (it's the 'stuff' you dissect off of a steak). The main goal of Rolfing is lengthening of the connective tissue so that alignment of the whole body is possible. In such a state, we don't have to fight gravity and instead, we find balance and support from the bottom up.

Rolfing can help with:
• Common aches and pains
• Arthritis
• Plantar Fasciitis
• Sciatica
• Carpal Tunnel
• Back Pain
• Headaches
• Elbow Tendinitis
• Frozen Shoulder
• Fibromyalgia
• TMJ
• Knee Pain
• Shin Splints
• Restless Leg Syndrome

"Humans can change toward orderliness, or they can change away from it. Human bodies do change - your body can, any body can. We do not mean deteriorate or age in the commonly accepted sense.
We mean that bodies - average physical bodies of flesh and blood - are amazingly plastic media, which can change quickly toward a structure that is more orderly and thus more economical in terms of energy."
Ida P. Rolf, Ph.D.
